CRADLEY boss Will Pottinger insists he’s going to the Isle of Wight on the front foot on Thursday.

Pottinger is refusing to accept defeat and a target of keeping it close in the Knockout Cup first leg tie.

The Anchor Logistics Heathens chief says a winning mentality is what he wants from his big guns.
“It’s always a tough place to go at the Isle of Wight, we know that,” he said.
“But I’m not the kind of person to just accept second best and hope we can turn it around in the second leg at Wolverhampton.
“I’ll be telling my guys that I want us to try and win, there will be no accepting second best, it would be great to bring a lead back to Monmore.
“We’re all in a positive frame of mind after that amazing night on Monday when Max Clegg and Tom Brennan won the match for us. If there’s a perfect time to take the lead in a match for the first time it’s in the last heat!

“I know quite a few Heathens fans will be making the trip down there and the backing we get is much appreciated.”

Pottinger has named an unchanged side from Monday with reserve Harry McGurk riding in his first ever cup tie at the age of 15.

The islanders include Ben Morley, a regular guest rider for Cradley in recent seasons, and former Sheffield star Georgie Wood.

ISLE OF WIGHT: Georgie Wood, Chris Widman, Ryan Terry Daley, Danno Verge, Ben Morley, Connor King, Chad Wirtzfield.
CRADLEY: Max Clegg, Lewis Whitmore, Danny Halsey, Luke Harris, Tom Brennan, Tom Spencer, Harry McGurk.
