NEW SIGNING TO BE ANNOUNCED

Monday May 20, 2019
CRADLEY have secured a new signing - and fans attending tonight’s (Monday) home Knockout Cup clash with the Isle of Wight will hear the news first.

The Anchor Logistics Heathens were dealt a blow over the weekend when teenage talent Tom Brennan suffered a broken leg in three places whilst on Championship duty with Eastbourne.

Brennan now faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines - and Cradley bosses have wasted no time in signing a replacement.

Club co-boss Nigel Pearson said: “I’m sure everybody will join me in sending Tom and his family our very best wishes and we hope he has a full and speedy recovery.

“Tom was brilliant for the Heathens in the two meetings he rode for us, scoring double figures in each meeting.

“Of course it’s a blow - but we have to look towards the rest of the season.

“Will (Pottinger - team manager) and Gary (Patchett - club partner) have identified all possible replacements over the weekend and we’re delighted to confirm we have struck a deal with one rider.

“We want our loyal fans attending tonight’s Knockout Cup fixture to be the first to find out who our new signing is and he’ll be announced before Heat One tonight.

“For tonight though we have to run rider replacement and we’re going to need our supporters to be the seventh Heathen by turning out in good numbers and making plenty of noise for the riders!”

A reminder that Season Tickets are NOT valid for Monday’s fixture - but there is a £5 reduction on admission for 2019 Heathens season ticket holders.
