PREVIEW: HEATHENS v STOKE

Sunday July 28, 2019
CRADLEY continue their National League campaign with a ‘must-win’ clash against rivals Stoke at Monmore on Monday (7.30).

And Tom Spencer, one of the bright spots of a difficult season for the club, says need to start being more ruthless.

The Anchor Logistics Heathens are urging fans to turn out in force at Monmore – it’s kids go free during the school holidays - and the youngster says it’s time they started showing people what they are capable of as a team to keep their top four hopes alive.

“There have been some bad results but to me we’re picking it back up slowly,” Spencer said.

“We won at home last time, we got a point at Kent last week so we’re still doing okay - but we know we need to do better still.

“We know what we can do as a team and we know what we need to do as well.

“We’ve proved it more than once this year that we can win meetings and we need to start winning a few more now.

“We need to beat Stoke and make sure we send them home with nothing.”

Cradley are at full strength and Stoke have drafted in Jason Edwards, a firm favourite with fans last season when he rode for the Heathens in their National Trophy campaign, as cover for the unavailable Tom Perry.

CRADLEY: Max Clegg, Luke Harris, Tom Spencer, Danny Halsey, Jack Smith, Sheldon Davies, Harry McGurk.

STOKE: Jason Edwards, Shelby Rutherford, Joe Lawlor, Luke Priest, Connor Coles, James Chattin, Joe Alcock.
